Chapter 15: I Said It

Exactly a month after our first cup of coffee, we were sipping our coffee in his room. His phone beeped.

"What is the matter? Everything ok at home?"

"Oh yes. Its just that we have an official party this evening."

"Oh, ok. Then I guess, its time for me to get going."

"I did not mean to tell you to go away. There is still time."

"But you have to get ready, right?"

"It is absolutely OK. Sit for some more time. Please."

After an hour I stood up to go; he escorted me till the door (A first again!!!).

       " Bye. Enjoy your party."

"These are generally not very interesting. Still I will try."

I heard Athlete, Chow, Brat and him to be loudly calling each other. When the shouts stopped, I understood they had gone. I picked up the latest book I was reading - Margret Mitchell's Gone with the Wind. My phone beeped after an hour.

"It is so boring out here."

"Why?? Don't you have a dance party tonight?"

"Yes we do, but I am not liking it here."

"It maybe be because your company."

"Maybe. Or rather, probably my company is not good here."

"Maybe you don't have good company like mine there??"

"Maybe because you are not here with me today."

I then did the most insane thing I had ever done in my life. On an impulsive note I messaged.

"Would you like to spend the rest of your life in the company of a crazy person like me???"

The phone stopped beeping and my heart kept pounding. I realized my foolishness then, but it was too late to retrieve my statement. After another hour, I heard the guys return. I saw him swinging in front of his room. I did not dare to go up to him and ask what the matter was because I knew that I was the matter.
